Very Early SC430 Cars
Please help me understand!
(If this is already covered in this forum, I apologize! I have looked for it with no success.)
1---Very early SC430s have a GPS screen with "Zoom In" and "Zoom Out" callouts and NOT "+" and "-". Does this increase the collector value, all else equal?
2---I have seen reference to 2001 Model Year for SC430. Was 2001 the first model year or was 2002?
3---Is the following correct regarding Generation 1 and 2 differences?
I'm surprised that so many people think the Gen1 and Gen2 versions of the Lexus SC430 are virtually the same. The major differences follow. You decide. From memory, here are the changes in model years 2006 -- 2010 (Gen2) compared to 2002 -- 2005 (Gen1). Six-speed transmission (was five). Redesigned wheels. LED lights which changed appearance in rear noticeably (not so much in front). Lower front grill changes left & right. Directional lighting added during turns. Lighted instrument panel in daylight. Instrument panel changes and console changes for new transmission and other data repositioning in panel. Interior roof color changed to black (was white). Further improved suspension (after initial improvements late in 2002 and more tweaks in the 2004 model). Engine HP restated to 288 (was 300, due to calculation method change). There are other minor changes.
