Default Top Code

Hi,
My top on 2006 SC opened and wouldn’t close. I scanned and got a B2520 code which is roof lock switch. Has anyone replaced that? I thought it might have been trunk latch but that closes fully down and no code thrown. I have to reset fault to make it go up or down. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Thats kind of a rare code. I don't recall ever seeing it before. I believe that is for the roof locking mechanism that locks the front of your roof to your windshield frame, right near the two sun visors. In the past people have got codes for the individual latches and it was because they had put felt or tape on them to help quiet rattles.

I believe your code is for the mechanism that pivots the lock in place.
Here is a picture I found on ebay

If your roof is still in your trunk, I would try lightly tapping on the metal panel. If the roof is not attempting to close, it is most likely a micro switch stuck in the wrong position. Tapping the roof might get the switch to open/close. Going over a speed bump without slowing down may also solve your problem.

If your roof is attempting to close, I would see if I could get the headliner off and take a look at the mechanism. BUT FIRST, I would make sure nothing is blocking the little holes on your windshield frame the pegs go into.

Again, I am not sure that is what the code means, DOES ANYONE ELSE THINK THAT IT IS THE LOCKING MECHANISM?

Default Code 2520

Thanks for all the responses. I’m pretty sure it’s the limit switch on the lock mechanism, not the lock itself. I’ve ordered the switch, now just need to remove the part of headliner to replace the switch and cable. Pretty sure it’s not anywhere in the steps except final lock is not recognized. Everything checks out up to that point. Never stops part way.

Default Removing Headliner

Can anyone direct me to a post or pictures describing headliner removal? I haven’t run across any pics or instructions. From diagrams it seems the switch is
on the drivers side roof under headliner, probably next to where the latches lock down mentioned in the prior post.
