Nav door question.

As far as i know, the radio door could be open or closed
did you notice i have a Pioneer radio too?

Looking forward to tearing into this thing and seeing if it will work again.
So does your nav screen do anything anymore?

I did see you have a Pioneer also, Different than mine as mine is pretty much all touch screen, I don't have the controls at the bottom but I wish I did. Touch screen can be a pain sometimes while driving. I still haven't learned all the stuff it will do, kinda hi tech for me, but I'm learning!

Once I get my door open I'll have to see if the screen does anything, it looks in perfect shape but I'm guessing if the radio installer unplugged the door they probably disconnected it. The original radio drove it yes? I hear about a DVD disc that runs it, that is in the original radio, yes?

Ok, Update on this.
A) I went in the trunk and found the nav unit, opened it and ejected the disc, 2013 vintage looks like.
B) back inside the car, I did the scary stuff, ( to me the first time anyway) and pulled the Climate control unit, much to my dismay all the plugs were plugged in. I unplugged them all , checked the pins and they all looked good so I plugged everything back in and put it back together ... I was hoping it would magically work as R&R-ing a plug will sometimes do that, but no. So I'm still on the search. I do have a full set of service manuals including the electrical wiring manual so I'll be searching that to see where fuses and such are controlling it. Got to learn how to use the manual first, kind of confusing...
Any thoughts / suggestions would be much appreciated! Also, the little faceplate/shield came off the control unit, best way to reattach? Radio was missing one screw so I installed one there.
I really hate the idea of removing the radio but I might. Seems like a TON of wires there hooking everything together!

Here is the replacement that many of us have used to replace that part. Just clean the adhesive off the area that you show and reattach the new faceplate.

Car upgrades
Hey guys, I just bought a 2003 Lexus 430. I was just wondering if anyone knows if I can swap out the current diff with an lsd from some other car. Also I’ve been thinking about putting a turbo back exhaust on it because there is no room in the engine bay. I also live in California so idk if the turbo would be legal and pass smog. Please let me your your takes, thank you.

So I have a complete set of Lexus shop manuals for this car including the Electrical manual, they seem hard to understand for me anyway I keep scouring and I can find nothing that talks about powering that nav door. I did find a reference to a fuse for the "TV and navigation" but upon checking it, it was fine. Did some of these come with a TV?
Anyone know where the nav door gets its power?? Sure seems like all the buttons on top of the climate control are dead! The climate control works fine though.
