Default Wheel swap

I have an '03 with the OEM rims. Soon I will be needing new tires and am thinking swapping out the rims for the 14-17 IS base spoke rims. What is the story on the TPMS sensors, I get so many different answers. Do I put the old ones in the new rims? Do the TPMS sensor learn? Are the lug nut the same? Help!

IS F 18 x 8 rim

It makes sense to get new sensors if they are many years old. You don't want to have to pay for installing new ones before your next tires will be due. I'm not sure of the lifespan, but I assume the batteries last around 10 years, based on my experience with other OEM TPMS sensors. If you use the old ones, no "learning" (programming) is necessary. For an 03, new sensors need to be programmed with Techstream.

BTW...I like the look of the wheels you picked, but they will be hard to keep clean.
