My NAV Door is stuck open. How do I fix it?

could be the close motor or the tilt motor.
can you close it manually?

Most a pic please

I can reach a finger in there and touch it but I can't close it.

needle nose pliers covered in tape...grab center of door at edge and pull gently...if stuck it could be off track

Then it’s either off track or the motors are dead
pull the unit and check door alignment
I had a similar situation and unless you’re very ambitious about replacing the motors(a PITA),I replaced mine from a salvage yard (Benzeen auto salvage) for $300 and it was in mint condition. You can also get your vent problems by salvage too….good luck

Disassembling the nav unit is not for the faint of heart.

Make certain you are buying the motor(s) with the correct shaft.

DAMHIKT....

I just want the door closed so I don't have to look at the ugly crazed screen. I use my phone for NAV.

try using a pick like this one from harbor freight. you should be able to pull the door down enough to do the rest by hand. even a straightened paper clip with a hook at the end might work.

When you push the button to close the door, do you hear the noise of the motor trying to close the door? If not, did you try to look and see if there is a fuse connected in the circuit that controls the drive motor? Could be possibly blown.

Didn't hear anything, so I took the dash apart. I guess it was jammed because it made a noise when in my hands and I was able to close the door manually. I haven't tried the close button yet because I don't want it to jam open again.

I'll check the fuses. It might have blown when it jammed.

Anyone know what fuse may handle the NAV Door? In the owners manual the only one I see that may cover it is #29 which says TV / NAV System. The 5A fuse was good! The tilt works and the NAV screen works, Maybe it's just the motors but I think they would have blown a fuse when they went bad.
