Default Lift Supports Depot

I listened to the forum and installed the trunk struts today. What a difference! They help so much more than the old ones.
Should have done then sooner! Easy, simple, 10 minutes total, $30.

Thank you all!

I've done hood and trunk and the difference is night and day. Very happy.

This is one of those cases where it is all about expectations.

New lift supports help keep the trunk open and stop it from falling down and bonking you on your head. They will never "Pop" the trunk open.

I ordered new front and rear a few weeks back, haven't gotten around to it yet. Glad to see this post. The install is easy, right?

Did you guys do "Strong Arm" or the house brand? From what I understand they're basically the same, but made in different countries.

I went strong arm.

in theory, someone could find a shock (or ask liftsupportsdepot to make it) that is the same length, but meant for more weight, and it would open faster I believe?

EDIT: wow, LSD gives all the specs right on the right, thats awesome. So these have 116lbs, not sure what OEM had.

EDIT2: Their customer service is great. They have 116lbs, 125, and 145.

for instance if you have an aftermarket spoiler that weighs more than the oem one, you could get 125lbs.

I just wanted to share my experience with LiftSupportsDepot. They're based in San Diego. I went up there today to swap out my 116lb rears with the 125lbs because i'm going to add some sound deadening and a slightly larger spoiler.

They were so nice! They even threw them on the trunk while I was there as it was drizzling. 10/10.

Note: the 125s add a lot of oomph to the opening and closing without the extra weight added. I would recommend sticking with the 116lb ones.

I'd worry about the affect of stronger struts on the complicated hinges necessary for the auto-top.

I agree. It's too much force without more weight.

For the sake of documentation, the 125lbs rear struts are part #PM3372S10. Incase anyone needs it for a spoiler.

I installed them, if anything it made it harder to open and close the trunk lol
