I will post a video later.
When I open, everything works until the roof tries to open. Then it seems to try to go then stops. When I release the button then press open again maybe after a few release press release press then it opens.
When I close everything works until the lock catches and it seems a little misaligned to me.
I just bought this car. It has the VSC issue, going to jump it this weekend.

The VSC issue can be caused by almost anything that will give you a check engine light. Really frustrating and will send you down a rabbit hole if you are not careful. If you don't have a scanner, go to an auto parts store that has them to lend. Run a full scan. The top issue sounds like the top latches at the windshield may not be engaging and releasing properly. The codes for the top MAY NOT be displayed on a particular. And some don't work unless the top is actually in operation. So, lets get started.

In order to find out what is wrong with the top, you need to get the Toyota Specific codes read on your car. High end scanners can read them, and of course toyota's software techstream can read them. You can possibly get access to one of those from a friend or by googling techstream.
An easier way is to go to the dealer or a toyota specialist and have the codes read while the roof is being lowered or raised.
Based on your own assessment, the roof may be misaligned. The bad part is there is a very rare and expensive alignment tools that most lexus dealer do not have. Most likely though, you can do it yourself.
Usually roofs do not become misaligned on their own. Was your car in an accident?

Sometimes people hear their roof rattle and try to fix it by wrapping the locking pins in tape or filling the holes with velvet (or stuff like that) Your car HATES when people do that. Something that small will often keep your roof from working correctly.
