G Spider Wheels for 2005
I've searched the forum and think I know the answer to my question but here it goes anyway. Will 18" G Spider wheels fit on my 2005 SC without modification? I believe the bolt pattern and offset is the same as my stock wheels. Thinking of purchasing from Lexus but when I check the fitment on the lexus site it says they do not fit a 2005. Any clarification or confirmation is greatly appreciated

I love those. Don't know why it says they wouldn't fit.

They absolutely will fit. My neighbor is a long time Lexus salesman and has two SC 430 cars. I asked him the same question and he said the G-Spiders will fit all SC 430 cars without modifications.

Above the details/specs of the rims it says they fit. My only concern would be that although they say G Spider rims they are someone else's idea of Spiders.
Good luck. I replaced my ' pizza covers ' with spiders and it elevates the look ! IMHO

I had g-spiders on my 2008 SC when I bought it. I got rid of them due to several issues, i.e., too heavy, hard to clean, prone to rust. That said, they were elegant looking. However, I was looking for a more aggressive looking wheel. I went with the Enkei RPF1's which due to their low weight, improved the performance and feel of the SC!

Rust was the wrong word...the chrome de-laminated around the edge (it looked like rust, but maybe it was just the cooper electroplating showing through (aluminum alloy wheels need to be copper-plated before they will accept chrome plating). I've been warned the next step was the mating surface to the bead of the tire would de-laminate to the point of causing the tire to lose air, supposedly a common issue with chrome G-Spiders.
Fun fact: The G-Spider wheels are/were manufactured by Enkei. Here are a couple of photos I took showing both Toyota and Enkei markings on the backs of the wheels:

I suspect the chrome finish was applied by an aftermarket company, like these

Maybe Lexus only carries painted G-Spiders now, but in 2008, chrome G-Spiders came on my SC. My window sticker shows them as an installed upgrade item for a cost of about $1,400. Here is the evidence that my G-Spiders came in chrome (in 2008):

A lot of Lexus dealers had OEM wheels done with an aftermarket chrome finish during that period and were sold as a dealer add on option. My old ls430 came with some.

No wonder chrome G-Spiders have a reputation for peeling and not holding air (it's not a factory finish)! I always assumed the chrome finish was applied by Enkei. One learns something new on CL every day! If mine were painted silver (factory), I likely would have kept them...the chrome was a little too flashy for my taste!
