Mich Pilot Sport AS4 - comfy and good enough grip for me. Used to have BFG Comp 2 AS which was acceptable but not as good as Mich. Some people swear by Conti DWS - used to have those - fine when maximum tread depth but got real noisy about half way through its tread life ...

We are on our 4th set of the Pirelli P7's. 1 set on my 06 SC, 1 set on my son's 05 SC and 2nd set on my 2010 LS460L.. If you are getting rid of the run flats most of the folks will tell you to go with the 245/45 18's over the 245/40 18's. Both my son and I have and it really improved the ride.

I would try "Touring" tires instead of "performance" tires for a softer ride.

Touring plus 1. I would stick to Bridgestones. When I bought the car it had no name tires and went with Sumitomos. I have Bridgestones on my IS350 and will have it on my SC when it is time, but thinking of replacing them now and selling the Sumitomos which are under 5K miles.

I purchased my SC with Continental tires and could never resolve steering wheel shake @ 55-60 mph. I tried the mich pilot sport but only had steering wheel success for a short period of time after road force balancing but after a while it returned.
I just purchased Pirelli P Zero and they are the smoothest, quietest tires that I ever had on my SC AND ABSOLUTELY NO STEERING WHEEL SHAKE !!! I will never put anything else on this car.

Check the center bore on your wheel is they are no longer stock. This has caused this issue for a lot of people.
