Wheel experts -- I did get the lug nuts. Thanks.

I had the wheels installed today. I did not attempt to band the sensors to the new wheels. I had planned to simply disconnect the buzzer as suggested. However, neither my warning light or buzzer has come on since the new wheels were installed. The new wheels have only been on a few hours, but I expected the warning system to be activated immediately once the sensors were removed. Has that been the experience for most of you? Or is it a delayed phenomenon that I should still anticipate in the near future? I do recall someone in this thread who was of the opinion that the warning system should not be activated at all by removing the sensors, because the computer simply receives no signal once the sensors are removed. Could that be the explanation for why my warning system has not been activated???????

hmyles,

Mine was delayed for just a couple of times when I started it, then it came on. Give it time. I bet it will come on.

Peter@Wheel experts,

Everything is great. Thanks for all your help. When I get a new LX470, I'll be calling you for some new wheels!!!

It was me who suggest earlier the lights may not come on without the sensors, but I do not have direct experience with the tire pressure monitor without the sensors since my BBS wheels do work with the sensors. I stated that it may not come on without the sensors because that's what I 've heard about the sensors of some other cars. I do think that no sensor-no light is the better design.

Default Tire sensors

I just had Michelins installed on my tires and all sensors and my sensor light is still going off with that nagging beep. Does lexus need to reset this or something? Will they charge me for this?

My dealer didn't charge me for resetting the sensors. All they have to do is use some sorta device to deflate and re-inflate the tires.

The service mgr told me that I could do it myself by inflating to 51 lbs - then delfating and then re-inflating to correct pressure BUT that it was dangerous to inflate that high.

YMMV.

I'm thinking of the alloy wheels sold by Lexus. I would think the tire sensors would work on wheels sold by Lexus?
