NEWEST BMW 635i Convertible copies back end of Lexus SC430!!!!!
So last night I was watching Auto Motor Sport (DW television) -- German show... and they showed the newest BMW Convertible... 635i...
I swear the back end was a total copy of the SC430.... I couldn't believe it!!!
Anyone else seen the show?

Umm the 645i doesnt look ANYTHING like an SC430 in ANY way at all.
The new Solara, Tundra, and practically every new toyota is having tail lights VERY similar to the SC430 however. The new Solara tail lights are disgusting to look at, the rear end is very similar to the SC430.
Now the 645i is in a class of its own....

The back end of the 645 looks like a 1997 Chrysler Cirrus from the back. Exactly like it. In Autoweek magazine, they had a picture of both rear ends in their "body double" section of But wait, there's more on the back page. I remember when the back of the Camry looked exactly like a late eighties Ford Tempo as well. I can't believe Chris Bangle (design chief for BMW) would make the rear end so similar to a car like the Cirrus!! Oh well. It's still a nice looking car, but WAY overpriced IMO!!! With rumors circulating that GM is going to buy BMW, I'd wait and see before buying. Pontiac and BMW went to court over the kidney shaped grill openings on their cars. Now, maybe the next Grand Am will be a beemer, or rather, the next M3 will be a Buick!!

645 in person
i went to an autoshow last week and saw the 645 in person. the tail does not look like the sc at all. the rear i must say is the ugliest part of the 6. it actually looks a lot better in life than on the pics. i'm not saying i'd buy it, but it's not too bad.

I think the 7il is hideous, the 7i looks a lil better. I cannot believe what they did to the beloved 5. Ugly as well. To be honest, all cars are getting unattractive to me. Interiors are getting better though (well not with I-drive). I dunno, maybe I should welcome this change in car design instead of resenting it.

They're making a 645 sedan?!?!! Where was a 645 sedan posted on here?? I thought the 6 series was just a coupe and convertible. I thought the only difference between a 635 and a 645 was the displacement of the engine (3.5 liters vs. 4.5 liters) and didn't affect the body except for maybe some options. A 6 series sedan might be nice. Take care.
