Default SC430 Commercial

Anyone know a link to see the new SC430 commercial? The one where they demonstrate how the car top opens and close? I heard but have not seen it.

Interesting commercial. They put the top down (remotely) while the car is totally drenched. The manual suggests that this not be done. Um ... at least the 2002 manual states that.

Nope; switch has to be depressed all the time during the operation. Unless you buy an aftermarket remote opener, like many here have done.

And yes, 2004 manual still says to only open the roof when fully dry. Not unlike the VW commercial, where a Touareg is shown towing an airstream trailer with three times its tongue weight limit. Until one dork emulated it, causing serious damage to the car, it was pulled off the air. Hey, I have a better one: motorcycle manufacturers report 'dry' weight, which means no battery acid, no brake and clutch fluids, no coolant, no engine and transmission oils, no final drive oil, and no fuel: Who the hell rides like that? So much for 'truth in advertising'.

Good evening.

Nope. The car in that commercial is a 2003 and it doesn't have auto up/down either. I should know because it is mine

To be honest, I was not present during the filming of it (didn't have the time to make it down to the set) so I don't know exactly how they managed to get the top up and down, but I would guess it was via some digital editing because I did not see any modifications made to the car afterwards (well, at least electrically). They did screw up my HIDs during filming, so I had them replaced, but I did get a new front bumper out of it too.

I have a copy of the commercial on tape, but I don't have a capture card to upload it here. Sorry.

I would love (I am sure others too) to get a digital copy of that TV advert.

I have not seen the commercial at all here in Canada.

You might want to try going to a local high school or college and asking a student to do this for you. They typically have the capture equipment and it should take no longer than a few minutes.

Cheers, Nick

Watch (record) the Speed Channel at night - it's on half a dozen times each night.
