Our dog is 70 pound big baby. He is in the cargo space. On the floor we laid down a pretty thick bedding on top of mat.
There are many choices on eBay or Amazon. If OP selects right size it does the job protecting the upholstery. It can be
washed easy using washing machine..
My dog Sita weighs in at a slender 33 pounds. She is used to freely roaming the cabin in my cars, but we are turning over a new leaf! She’s very charming and tends to get what she wants, often
Htony, What do you mean by if OP selects right size? Because that is the question, so many seat protectors out there but the backseat is extraordinarily narrow in the SC as you all of course know The passenger in question
I love how this works for our 35 pounder. I've only used it in our Fusion and Explorer, but very easy to put in and take out as it easily hangs over the four headrests. Should work great in the SC430 since it doesn't take up any room - it merely protects all the leather. Picked it up
I'm the proud father of a 75lb Pit/Weimaraner puppy (going on 2 years)... My question to you all is what do you use to keep your dogs from doing doggy damage to the car?
I already get his nails trimmed/filed fairly regularly so they don't scratch everything up (he has BIG paws). Do any of you have seat covers or anything like that? Is there anything nice that matches the interior?
Here's a pic of him burrowed into his thrown of pillows on my couch, lol. He's a big baby.
I've come late to the party on this one but thought I'd share anyway. I have 2 great loves in my life - my SC430 and my dog. The 3 human children come a close equal 3rd.
I am obsessive about my SC. OBSESSIVE. I cried this morning because I acquired a stone chip from a passing truck. You need a scanning electron microscope to see it BUT I KNOW IT'S THERE DAMMIT.
I have had the car for 3 years and the dog has been denied entry after an initial attempt to have him share the ride ended in disaster with him scratching the passenger door wood panelling (miniscule, scanning electron microscope, yadda yadda).
But summer is almost upon us here in the southern hemisphere and I can't bear to watch that forlorn little face anymore as I back the car out into the glorious sunshine. So began my quest to contain/anchor/restrain little Paddy so that he can't scratch ANYTHING. The local pet store owner has a new yacht thanks to me - pillows, beds, stretchers, car seat covers, straps, restraints, buckles, airplane luggage. Nope, nope, and nope. The soft sided carry case with mesh windows sort of worked - as long as he was completely zippered inside, but what's the fun in that? I even started to build my own out of cardboard, packing case foam, coat hanger wire, and duct tape. Might finish it when I retire and can devote 12 hours a day to the project.
Was about to abandon the whole idea when someone above said the magic word, "socks".
And so, ladies and gentleman, may I introduce you to Paddy. Handsome AND fashionable (and really, really loving the wind in his hair, er, I mean wool).
Don't let his seemingly glum countenance fool you.
Thank you to the mods for merging my thread into this one... I didn't realize this would be such a common topic, I should have searched. For some reason I thought this would be an atypical post on here.
SOCKS, interesting idea actually. I hadn't thought of covering the dog and not the car.
