Default Turbo SC update!!

Hey everyone,

haven't been on for awhile, but just want to give an update..on the car..

The car's been great, just been running around having fun and what not, I got a couple vid that i'm putting together, (one with the SC slowly pulling on a 996 turbo ) and a few other runs...

as for new parts...

Brembo's 14in. two piece
Sway bars
along with internals,
head work, and more Boost!! (takes a long time to get everything together....)

Also look for the car in the up comming months of Sport Compact Car, not sure what month yet but i'll keep you guys posted..

take care,

Paul

Great update Paul!!
I would love to see that vid with the porsche when you have it done.

If you need some hosting for new pics, just send them my way again and I'll put it in my CL gallery.

Need to keep my eye on the upcomming SCC mag then

Thanks for the update paul. Have you seen the thread for that japanese lexus mag? They are looking for modified sc 430s in the Cali area.

Paul,
Did you piggyback an ECU for your setup? I believe Blizz had some issues with his twin supercharger leaning out on boost. Maybe you can give him some advice?

ahh, yes the good old ECU....

you best bet is you need to talk to Eric at XS engineering...

He used an AVO laptop programmable system piggybacked to the stock ECU with his own program that he wrote on my car.

Your next problem is going to be the tranny, (shift selinoids) but thoes can also be manipulated by the AVO system also..

He was able to get about 30 extra hp out of the ECU alone with his custom map that he wrote when the car was completely stock!

so give him call

p.s. your car looks great and keep me posted, I'd like to see what kind of #'s thoes twin screws come up with??

take care

Paul

Paul,
I gotta commend all you guys who have had gumption to modify the 3UZFE. Since this isnt a popular modification, the innovative engineering that everyone is taking is great to watch on this forum.

My hat's off to Paul, Carlos and Blizz

Keep us posted!!

So, what's the latest and greatest info on power adders?

I'm about ready to supercharge/turbocharge my SC430, I've had it for a full week and it's got over 1400 additional miles on it already, time for more power!

I'd be happy with an additional 100-150hp from a single blower, are there ANY full kits out there for doing so?

I wouldn't mind going up to the 450rwhp range, but I do want to keep it 100% reliable, easy to maintain, etc...I'd even love to explore turbocharger options, but don't want to go the fully built short-block and tranny route.

Thanks.

380-400rwhp is about the limit before you need to get into the motor and tranny.....

you can push it to he 450 mark but.....unless you start fortifing you'll run into some problems....

that what happened to us....(was completely aware of the risk) turned up the boost was close to the 440rwhp mark and did some damage to a piston and valve.....

so if you want to play it safe.....380rwhp is a good mark...(still a big difference over stock)

the only kit that i know of is the blitz.(twin screw's)....but am unsure if it will be able to give you the gains that your looking for???

i'd look around ......
hope that helped...,

I'd be perfectly happy with 380-400rwhp.

But the Blitz kit has *TWO* blowers only? Seems like waaaay too much weight to add, one blower should be more than enough.

Have any links on the Blitz offering? Is it a complete kit? ECU/Fuel management? Intercooler?

Two ....real small blowers... I wouldn't worry about the weight....

besides...they look sweet...

There's a guy on here with them installled....do a search...

Blitz claims that their only good for about 60 -70 hp at the flywheel....

that won't get you 380 to the wheels...
