Performance Sway Bars - Finally!!
#3
My apologies if I don't understand this, but hasn't the Daizen Sway Bar set been available for a while?
I've seen it listed on lexus-parts.com -- is it the same?
"Daizen Sport Tuning high performance sway bar set"
http://www.lexus-parts.com/partdetai...bCategoryID=85
WAIT A MINUTE -- their site says "Availability 01/2004" -- that's later than I remembered!
Maybe they said they WOULD have it, but not really (that happened with the center caps, too).
Of course, I have the advantage of Sewell Lexus here in Dallas.
I just put a call in for see if they have them in stock.
Thank you VERY much for the review & info!
I haven't found anyone with an opinion or experience with them.
You have given me good reason to spend my bonus (VERY gladly, I might add).
BTW, what was the deal with "the first set which didn't fit that well"?
Should I be concerned about it?
I'm certain I won't be able to get them installed for $95 .
Check back for details!

The bars are available only now. Daizen was late in getting them done.
The first set didn't fit well because it was a prototype for Todd to examine it's shortcomings and correct the bar measurements. By all means, it wasn't that far off. No worries, the newer test models became spot-on fits.

I got a call back from Sewell. The Parts Dept. called Daizen (I think) and they said they weren't available yet. It's possible that Todd got some of the first, considering that he did the testing. I'm hoping they can get them soon.

Warranty
rominl said it well. There's no set rule that sways or coilovers will automatically void your warranty. It's only if it causes a problem with the other "related" stock parts as rominl said.
I took my car in for a roof problem and an oil change recently. I normally dial back my coilovers before service work, but I forgot and they were pretty stiff. Well, they noticed it. I got a call from the service rep wondering how long I had had coilovers and sways. In talking to him I realized he just wanted to know if stiffer suspensions might cause roof problems for other owners; he wasn't out to nail me for a few bucks. (In all fairness, my stiffer suspension could very well have been responsible for a loose part in my roof, but because I had had the coilovers for 14 months and the sways 6 months, there wasn't a direct correlation.) So they not only fixed my roof, but did my 20,000 mile service for the price of an oil change. I think they secretly liked my setup...

You're welcome DaveGS4 and dseag2. But maybe a bigger note of thanks goes out to Todd and Chris at TM. I believe it was Todd who persuaded Daizen to finally do this project. Who knows how long it would have been otherwise.
I was just super-fortunate to live near TM Engineering and see Todd's original request for an SC430. Thanks to Todd and Chris it wasn't a hassle at all. They could switch bars, test drive, and have me out of their shop in 20 minutes. Thanks guys!

The Daizen web site stated that the sway bars would be "available soon". I emailed them asking when "soon" was, and their reply of 3/30/04 was "these will be available this week" . I think many of us would be very interested in the opinions of anyone who has had them installed and what it cost to install them.

Just go to TMEngineering.NET 's website and order them, I believe on his other post he said he has them in stock or coming in.
Or feel free to wait till mine are installed, I'll give them a full writeup as always.
