I have a question for all fellow SC owners. If you put in a cd and turn the fader all the way to the rear speakers, what does it sound like?? Does it sound as good as having the fade all the way on the fronts??
The reaon I ask is I heard a pop from the back speakers when the tunes were on LOUD. Now, when I turn the backs on alone, they sound tinny and incomplete. No bass, very little voice , not good.
I don't know what is normal, and I have not been able to get to a dealer and test another SC.
The dealer has tried replacing the amplifier and the rear speakers, all with no difference.
So maybe what I think is a problem, is actually normal?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

I'm not a car stereo expert by any means, but I have had aftermarket work done from time to time and have been told by the shop that this has something to do with the sound system "crossover". As I understand it, you will never hear the full sound from the rear speakers when you have the fader turned all the way to the rear. The full sound comes out when the fader is in the middle.
I've tested this with quite a few cars and have noticed the same. Fader all the way to the back... very little sound. You may want to try leaving the stereo at the standard fader setting and sitting in the back seat. (I know that's not an easy task in the SC430!) Hope this helps.

Hey Tjz, I finally had a chance to check my sound. It's exactly as you describe. Tinny w/reverb in back and full sounding up front. I also have my fader set to R2 during normal use.
I think it's normal and everyone's comments are correct.
