Question for the SC430 guys. I have a 2002 GS300 now and my lease is up in a few months. How kid friendly is the back seat in a 430.?I have a 16 mth. old in a car seat. Any of you guys tried squeezing a car seat in the back, and if so, how easy is it to get the child in and out? Thanks for your input.

I don't think they're practical at all. I don't think the wind would be fun with the top down, considering the turbulence that comes around the front seats (being a driver myself).
I have found that a bag of fertilizer isn't easy to pull out of the rear seat, ESPECIALLY when the top is up.
I think a similar comparison could be made with a small child.![Big Grin](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
(Sorry -- I couldn't resist the analogy. No offense intended.)

well, you can put down the top, then put in the fertilizer, and then close the top again

Hmmm, a reason to get the remote top function added!
Of course, you don't want to ask to give your SC "the same function my Winstar has", but it's certainly more practical than most who have gotten it because it's cool.

Believe it or not I have had a low profile car seat behind passenger seat since our baby was born. As strange as this was to consider, the car has the new latch system in the back seat for side buckles and a top buckle behind the rear headrest. Our daughter is now 26 months and she still fits with the passenger seat about 3/4 forward. My wife does not love riding around this way but our daughter seems to like it much. How much longer it will last, I do not know. Now that we also have a GX with Rear DVD, she seems to more oftern want to go in that car.

The severe angle of the backrest limits the use of the carseats. I can transport one child behind the passenger seat as long as nobody was sitting in it. Boosters are on option for older children, but for a child that age, I wouldnt recommend it. Their heads are always leaning forward and they can never get comfortable or fall asleep.

It's not safe to ride in the back IMHO, especially if facing forward; the front seat back is too darn close to their faces. The SC is strictly a 2-seater in my house.
Take care.

It will be cheaper than the SC430, too...you'll save some money......but, of course, the GS will not have the SC's trick top.
If you can afford to splurge, then get the LS430.....it runs about what an SC does (61K) and you'll have PLENTY of room in back. If not, then I would consider the GS430 and use the difference in price to start a nest egg for the kid's college.
