Are the Bridgestone Potenza's really noisy? For some reason around 45 miles an hour the sound is pretty bad. Could there be an alignment or air pressure problem?

Thanks,
Drew.

Have you rotated them properly? How many miles are on them? Are these the all-season Potenzas?
Many radial tires...especially those with tread blocks that overlap the bottom and come up the lower sides of the tire, will start to hum and throb if / when the blocks wear in a feathered pattern. Sometimes, when this happens, cross-rotating them will unfeather them if they roll in the opposite direction. In the old days you couldn't do this with radials, but today there's usually no problem if you don't have unidirectional tires or uneven-size wheels.
If balance, rotation, and alignment doesn't help to your satisfaction, then it's time to get a new set of tires.

OH, THOSE TIRES WERE HORRIBLE. I traded off the Bridgestones for all season perfromance Continental Tires, and they were much better and quieter and smoother and allowed me to go through 3-4 inch of snow with little problem on snow mode.

I recently traded my RE-040s for the Dunlop all season DSSTs with a noticable improvement in ride and handling and a reduction in noise. All-in-all a pretty good trade but we'll see if it holds as the Dunlops wear.
