I did not have any sort of bra on my `02 and even though I was very careful I collected about 6 nicks/chips on the front hood and bumper. I got into the habit of keeping touch-up paint in the glove compartment. I can attest to the fact that the Xpel bra pays for itself - not to mention the peace of mind!
I completely agree with Leslie. I also owned an SC430 in Millenium Silver ('03), and even though I was extremely careful in maintaining distance on the road it still had stone chips... not only on the bumper but up the hood as well. I had the X-pel bra installed at a cost of approx. $550 and was very satisfied with it. Like Gene, I am extremely meticulous with my cars and wouldn't install something that I felt detracted from the appearance. If you're going to pay over $60k for a car, it would seem that $550 is a relatively small amount to keep it well maintained. I would highly recommend X-pel.

I finally got to see a car with the xpel installed on it. Luckily it was white like my SC and it was very noticeable on the edges, to the point that I would not like it on my car. The installer told me that it is great and almost invisible when put on dark color cars and that even the silver color works well. I guess my choice is to drive carefully and make sure that I have my touch-up paint pen handy! Thanks again for everyone's help on my decision. I was leaning toward the xpel and was a little disappointed that it wouldn't work.

flint 330,

Good luck with that. I think once you see how easily the front of this car seems to chip the paint, you'll change your mind and find a good installer. I hope all goes well. Take care.

Do you do installs? If not, who would you recommend in NorCal? If you do, can you send me installation rates break down. Please use email (neo.one@gmail.com) as my CL PM is always getting full. Thanks.

Can I also get that list of names of the installers for the clear bras. I recently bought my 02 SC430 and it has a few rock chips on the front bumper.. i'm also looking for a great body shop who would repaint the front and maybe be able to put that bra on for a great deal. if you have any advice...it would be greatly appreciated.

thanks
lisa

I would be interested in an installer in the Sacramento area. I would appreciate it if you could refer me to someone.

Thanks,
