Default Need advise on wheels.

Hi, i'm going to buy new wheels but i don't know which size is better 18 or 20.
the dealer don't recomend 20". if i get 20", do i need to change the suspension or brakes?
Or is it better to get the 18"?

18s ar just like the stock ones, imho that's not good enough

if you get 20s and the right tires, it's ging to look so much better. but the tires will be more low profile, so the ride might be harsher.

you don't need to change the suspensions, they are not required, but they will make the car look better of course

unless the new wheels are exceptionally heavy, i don't think you need new brakes too

it will be a bit higher than stock coz' 20s with tires are over the spec from the stock setup. but it's not going to be too bad. let me see if i can find some pics

You SC430 = your decision, but I wouldn't do the 20s. I agree that the right set-up with 20s would look sweet, but you may go through a lot of tires riding on 20s on Indiana roads.

Why not 18 or 19s? I'd be more interested in wheel design rather than size. Besides, you're adding a *****load of unsprung weight with 20s. I like looks, but only if it doesn't affect function.
If you're aware of all the drawbacks and still want them, then go for them.
Post some pics when you're done.

well it depends on the weight of the wheel and how the weight are distributed. the stock 18s aren't light at all, if you get a set of light 20s, it's not going to affect much imho

19's seems like a good compromise between looks & ride quality IMO. Personally, I still prefer the SC430 to ride more like a luxury car which it is meant to be.

I agree. Also, I feel that the car, as is, is so well 'balanced" for 18s, that modifying to larger-sized wheels without modifying the brakes and suspension could be problematic.

well, actually 19s and 20s (normal setup) has the same tire profile, so the ride won't change at all. unless you do 19s with fat setup, then you get more tire profile for ride comfort

the stock sc430 rides very stiff coz' of the runflat. i was thinking the other day, with tein cs and some 19s/20s, would the ride be actually better or what?

the sc430 stock rides quite a bit stiffer than my gs with tein cs and 20s
