Sc430 = nice, tight ***
6 series = wide, shapeless ***
a refresh or redesign of the SC430 would be cool as long as Mr. Bangle's design esthetic doesn't influence (read:infect) our SC430.
Counterpoint: Has anyone seen the Hamann tuned 6 series?......that car is the business.

Not to open a can of worms here, but I think it's about time Lexus is thinking of a redesign of the SC430, if they haven't started. The same current design has stretched out for 4 consecutive model years, and it's time to start a new era. Notwithstanding the comparison of the rear designs of the Solara and the SC, the Solara has already stepped up in the redesign field, along with the Audi convertible and the introduction of the BMW 6-series convertible. Lexus has got to do the same if they want to keep up with the coupe/convertible competition

The SC430 came out in 2001 & the 6 series is brand new, so it's no surprise that the 6 would have more power, & of course BMW always emphasize driveability first,& Lexus quality & refinement. The thing is that when you observe the 2 side by side in person where you can compare the details in build quality, the SC430 still manage to make the newer & much more expensive 6 series looks relatively cheap by comparison.
The 6 is my favourite Bangle BMW so far & if it's proven to be reasonably reliable in a couple of years, I may consider it for my next car. I will consider only the 6 coupe though, I don't think I will ever get a ragtop after the SC430.

As for the comapro, no question to em the Sc's *** looks much nicer. I hope they keep the same design of the SC for at least another year or two. I think the car is fantastic looking.

This weeks issue of "Autoweek" magazine shows a spy shot of a future Lexus, the LF-A exotic sports car concept which may be on sale in late 2006. A 500 hp V-10 will supply the go-power with a top speed of 190 mph and a sticker in excess of $100k. I would seriously consider trading in my 03 SC for something as sharp as that. A supercar exotic with the reliability of Lexus. How cool is that? Kinda like an NSX only better?
Go to the Autoweek website and type in "Lexus concept" to see photos. It is hard to tell what it really looks like under the cover but it is very interesting. The uncovered car will be seen in a few weeks at the Detroit auto show.
Go gently and Happy New Year to all,
Flatfoot

even if it comes out though, i am not sure if i will get it. over 100k, that's a lot of money either way
