yes just for hardware. they come with installation instructions. they are not too hard but unless you are comfortable with taking the car apart (dash, doors, etc...) and splicing wires, you might wanna give it to local shops for installs. audio shops i suppose?

How does it work? Sorry for all the questions. Do you have a separate remote or can it work with your existing key?

no problem, just ask

you stick with your current key/remote. you just use a combination of lock and unlock bottons to open the top / start the car. of course a lot of security measures were taken into consideration, so you still have the factory security

imho the auto start and the top down they are must have for this car

What's special about the Luxlink Remote Starter?

I currently have a remote starter (for my GX470) which works off the Lexus key. You press Lock-Unlock-Lock and it starts.

Problem is once it's running you cannot use the remote to unlock the doors. You have to bring the key to the door.

Thanks for all your help. My husband is not into cars...and I am (kinda role reversal in that department). I would love to get it...maybe I will ask for that for Valentines.

I wished I knew someone that could teach me how to install and stuff, would love to learn but don't know anyone that does that stuff. I would probably have to get it installed at an autoshop.

How would I know when there is a GB? Is it posted?

in that case the luxlink is a bit better. at least for my gs4, once you started the car, you still have 3 seconds to unlock the door if you want. after that the remote is "dead"

oh that's interesting i am sure there are some people in your area who got the auto start (maybe for other lexus models) and would like to give you more info on the install.

for the GB, it hasn't started yet. just keep track on the vendor forum

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/club-lexus-vendor-marketplace-118/

they did the GB on the luxlink for the gs models for december

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=140490

so i am sure the one for the sc is coming

For what it's worth, I installed the Sirius in the ashtray as well. I also had the stereo shop move the cigarette lighter over on the tunnel area just under the dash on the passenger's side. It made it handy for radar detector or anything else, and was more convenient at times than the one in the center console. Just my $.02!!! Take care.

Default Ashtray Hole

For installing a satellite radio head at the ashtray location, do I need to hack at the ashtray plastic to get a deep pocket and make it look "installed"? And to allow the ashtray lid to close over it for security reasons and to keep off the sun?

I guess it may depend on the model.

The center housing holding the ashtray comes out rather easily. I would suggest removing it and test fitting the head unit you are interested in. I can post instructions if anyone is interested.

Weny
