Default Purpose of Set Button on Left side of Steering Wheel?

Does anyone know what's the purpose of the "Set" button on the left side of the steering wheel - next to the volume buttons? All I know is it screws up the volume level of my stereo and I can't raise it afterwards.

i believe it is for "set"ting the level of the radio if you needed to quickly reduce the volume i.e. getting a call on your cell phone. set the volume where you would like the radio to be and hold the set button down until it beeps. the next time you push the set button the radio will go down to that level. to increase the volume use the **** or volume buttons on the steering wheel

DPR supra is correct. I set it to '0', as a mute.

Thats good to know, I always just turn the radio off when I get a call. I found an open connector under the center console. I wonder if this connects to the optional phone tie in. Maybe this connector will allow the mute function as well. Could be of help to the XM and Sirius fans.
