While putting on an aftermart exhaust has anyone remove some or all of the catalytic converters? If you have please let me know your experience.

no cats here....

more power, more sound...(sometimes too much) depens on your exhuast.

We added a 3rd central muffler and its just right.

do you have a front y pipe? or did you just go straight pipes. Does your check engine light stay on. And where did you put the third muffler?

Thanks for all the help? My blitz pipes are not loud enough!

Kept the cats, went with a magnaflow center muffler with pipes going straight back. Beautiful sound, reminicent of a mustang 5.0. BE FORWARNED.....Drone between 2000 and 2500 at cruise.

remember my car is turbo'd.....so there isn't a Y pipe.

but give it a shot, pulling your cat's will difinently give you more sound and power, the down side is your check engine light might come on.

it's a hit and miss, might come on, might not but if it does (due to the O2 senors) it shouldn't affect performance.

.Another thing to consider is how long have you had your Blitz units.....over time they get louder.

If i were you i'd pull the cats for the power, and intall, some Apex'i exhuast valves...(control's volume)

Best of both worlds.

hope that helps..

The first set-up on the car was 3.25 in from the turbo out (no cats) to twin Apex'i N1 cans.
Remember turbo cars are generally quieter due to the turbo, and this thing sound like a Drag Boat! Awsome, but too Loud

So a central muffler was added and that made all the difference.....but nither set up had any drone at any rpm..

The first set up sound good ideling but put you foot down and watch out....

the second set up has a much nicer rumble around town, (it's still a lexus guys) but gets louder up top but not intrusive

The car is actually getting a whole new exhuast set-up as we speak, 4in turbo back.....so who know's??? LOL

The pipes have only been on one day..LOL I assumed and hoped they will get louder. If I were to go the route you suggest (sound like a great idea) where can I get the Apex'i Exhaust valves?

I believe there is a heavier duty model that welds the butterfly for turbo applications as well....
