Default electric supercharger?

I see all these different types of "electric superchargers" that force some cold air into the intakes via an electric fan.

like

for example. Has anyone ever tried any of these or are they all hype as I suspect?

Don't even bother, you might even lose power trying to bolt on one of these "superchargers"

Default Hybrids are the real electric superchargers

Lexus will make hybrid available in all models within 5-7 years and the performance will be the main benefit, then emissions and then fuel efficiency. At least by then you won't have to go to the Gas station as often and you will really like about 8 seconds of instant on torque.

Rockville,

Never really thought about this... will all the hybrids be AWD? The GS and LS hybrids specifically?

He told us the GS hybrid will be RWD only and really push the performance envelope. Tuners will have to figure out a way to increase voltage to give you a bigger bump.

Default Hybrids will rule

The GS450h a rear wheel drive high performance sport sedan to arrive in May '06 as an '07. I heard the LS460h will be the first LS class hybrid but I have not been privy to drive configuration. At first I thought all hybrids would be AWD like the 400h. Remember the hybrid model numbers describe the equivalent displacement in performance of a conventional engine.

Thomas Knight has an electric supercharger that has been written up in some mags. I believe it is limited to small liter engines.
