Default Roof down when wet

Quick question.

Is it okay and safe to put the roof down if it is wet? For instance, if it rains in the morning but clears up by the afternoon, is it okay to put the roof down if it is still wet with rain?

Thanks,

Don't forget it goes inside the trunk too, so not a good idea IMO, but may not a big deal if you don't do it often, still I think it's better to dry it off first . . .

Keep a chamois in the car, you never know when it might come in handy

I think that driving the car for a little bit with the top up will blow off most of the serious water. I would NEVER chamois my car unless it was just washed and rinsed with clear water. A car that has been standing out in the rain is far from clean and the chamois could work like fine sand paper.

In spite of the SC430 commercial, this is what their 2002 manual (p. 83) states regarding this topic:

"Do not open the retractable hardtop if the hardtop is damp or wet. Possible interior water damage, water stains or mildew on the hardtop material may result."

I remember I' ve glanced through something like that when I first bought the car , so it's probably in my 2003 manual too.
