I've had my 2002 SC430 for the last 2 years and I have been very happy with it . I had no idea that the convertible was going to be so much fun. The hardtop is great. It is secure. It is quiet in the times i am driving with it up. It does not leak even in the pouring rain. It comes down in 25 seconds which makes it so effortless that I put it down for even short little runs ( in contrast to my buddies with manual tops). It does take up a lot of trunk space but you can throw stuff in the back seat. The back seats are difficult for adults but my kids sit in them often when I drive them to school so they are not useless.
The car is very dependable, unlike the MB and Audi. The service Lexus gives is great. The styling is obviously a personal choice with it being a more rounded look like many of the vehicle of the 60's. The wheels that I don't find that objectionable are changed by many which I too have been considering. The runflat tires are a compromise. The hardness I accept but I dislike the "twitchyness" on uneven pavement. On smooth pavement they are a dream. I would like to drop the car but I am waiting for a suspension system that I can adjust the height and ride from the cockpit. The TM sway bar I will probably will install soon.
The interior of the car is beautiful and has more features than my Lincoln. The sound system is so fantastic I often sit in the carport just listening to music.
Overall I have been very pleased with this vehicle and would highly recommend it,

i've had my 05 for 4 months and pray for sunshine everyday. only downsides for me are lack of oem sirius or xm 7 ride on run flats could be better but overall this car is a dream 7 a much better value than most of its competition

i have had my sc430 for couple of months already, seriously except couple of rattles (due to the fact that the car is way too quiet to begin with), i can't find anything to complain. it's such a nice car, it's unbelievable. i can't understand how they can make a convertible this quiet.

and yes it's one of the top rated cars, i am glad

about changes, mark was right about the nav. since 05 they switched to 4th generation nav on most lexus models with voice recognition and bluetooth, the sc is one of them. the second yr of sc430 also got some minor fixes like the rear seat belt clips, together with couple others that i might have missed

but this fall the 06 sc430 will come out, it will get a face lift change. 6 speed auto tranny (tht's pretty much confirmed i think), probably different headlights and taillights, and maybe some more cosmetic changes
