Yes totally backlit electroluminescent display. The way it is currently, you can read the guages w/o having the key in. Now the needles glow along with the numbers when the ignition on only.

Yeah...what's wrong with amber anyway? The taillights are all doing away with amber nowadays, not necessarily for the better IMO.

Keep in mind that if they use LEDs for the blinker as well, a clear lense will make it more visible at a farther distance... overall I think it looks cool for a refresh, the one thing that is now bugging me is if the front calipers were updated as well as the LS430/new GS430's.. even 4runners have 4 pot calipers

yeah that's what i didn't like about the current sc430. i wonder why it has to stay with teh traditional face plate where i can see all the numbers. i like the ls430 where you dont' see anything until you put in the key. looks good

nothing wrong with amber, but when done right, imho, the clear looks tons better than amber. look at the 3 series (old e46) and newer, look at the 5 series (old e39) and newer. look at the 01+ gs taillights and the jp ones. look at the ls430 (01to 03) and then the 04+. those are classic examples imho of much better look with clear

on the sc430, i dont' know yet... guess i will have to see the car first

It's the same with the taillights for the 04 LS430 refresh. I like the amber more . . .

it's about time! i always wondered the same thing - i thought it might have to do with the drop-top visibility, maybe certain angles would be hard to read with EL lighting rather than traditional. i don't know, but i'm glad they upgraded it. the backlight effect is fantastic, and a total Lexus thing.

Whoever said the headlights looked like a MR2 spyder...I can definetly see the resemblance there! They definetly do look like them somewhat.

I like the new front, the large grille resembles the new IS.

Don't like the tail-lights like everyone else

Why can't we get the red interior option?! I'm loving the red interior! The dark wood in that pic is very nice as well.

We don't know that yet, I' ve heard there may be new interior leather color available, whether that includes red, I don't know. The red is nice except there is too much of it, I think they should keep the carpets black for more contrast, 2 tone red/black seats would look even better. I normally don't like black wood, but it matches well with a red interior.
