Hi all,
I'm strongly considering a new SC430 for my wife. I think I've got a good price quoted on the car, but am wondering what the price should be on a 7 yr/100k extended Lexus warranty? Anyone know what number I should be aiming at?
Also, anything you suggest I consider for or about the car prior to signing on the dotted line?
Thanks!
JB

JB101,
I just purchased a RX400h and an extended 7 year/ 100k mile bumper to bumper, no-deductible warranty for an extra $1500.
Peace of mind money, what with all the new technology.
I purchased a new 2003 SC430 without an extended warranty in 2003. The car has only 7500 miles on it now. When I closed the deal on the RX, I inquired about the cost of an extended warranty for the SC. I was quoted about $1700 for a 7 year-100k bumper to bumper ( from date of purchase) and $1400 for a 7 year 70k bumper to bumper with zero deductible. I was told that I have until the end of this calendar year or 12K miles, whichever comes first, to decide.
I'll probably take the 7 year - 70k mile deal for $1400 because I don't get to drive my SC as much as I'd like to. I have a company car that I drive back and forth to work, so the SC spends a lot of time in the garage.
Based on my recent "extended warranty" pricing experience, I would expect a figure around $1500 - $1800 for the SC 7 year/100K mile, no deductible.
Lexus is building a fine car and we're probably p------ our $ away.
Peace of mind has gotta be worth something. If the feeling is worth it to you, go for it!
You're gonna be dead a long time!

When I bought my used SC430, that was one of the big factors. They guy who was selling the SC430 had extended warrenty. I got that transfered over to me for (I think is was $75).
Even though my car is 2002, my warrenty is good unitl 2009 so I have peace of mind.

I keep getting quoted $2,800 for the 7yr/100k zero deductible. Where/What Lexus Dealership can I call to get a quote of $1500 - $1800 ?
Thanks !!
