thanks for the great reviews guys, i really respect them, very nicely written, and i think they are very fair
lou, i forgot already (been a long while since i looked at the sl500, couldn't afford the sl55, hehe), does the sl500 have leather on all surface too? i did remember it has more leather than the sc. i am not surprised at all about the handling and the braking, i would say the sl is more of a driver's car. though i am kinda surprised about the rattling, coz' of the several people i talk to, you are the only one without rattles or problems with the car. but that's a good thing!
and yup, you are right about the comparison. just like when i was considering the sl500, i could only consider a used one. not even a new sl500. they are in different league imho, and they have different target audience
and you got the renntech already!!!!!!! that's awesome!!!! how do you feel now driving it, do you feel a lot more push from the car? gosh, it's time for me to visit sacramento!

The SL 500 has leather on all surfaces as does the SL55. However the SL55 has a suede headliner and sun visors where the SL has fabric.
The Renntech upgrades make the car much quicker than before. The responsiveness from a dead stop is extremely noticeable and full throttle starts are now next to imposssible even with the traction control on; it just smokes the tires and the tires on mine are oversized. I can only wonder what the SL 65 is like with over 100 pounds more of torque ( 738 lbs- SL65 vs 626 on my car). The thing now is almost frighteneing.
