Having owned and still own a number of collector cars, I can guarantee you that different paint and interior will not make a it a collector's car. Rarity of the model (the entire range) and a limited number of cars produced are the 2 items that will place them into that kind of a category.
I had a 1971 280SL that was a national show winner and the prices on it moved up ever so gradually; not enough to cover my costs. The reason is that there were 50,000 of the W113 models produced---too many to make it truly collectible.

The Hp/Torque figues didn't changed at all for 2006, it's due to the new SAE standard of measurements.
