Default Wheel question

Can the stock wheel covers be removed? Sorry, newbie here, looking to pick up an '02, but I don't like the covers...

yeah you can remove it, it's just plastic covers. but it looks even worse with it removed imho

maybe you can just get the 05 plates, which is 5 spoke style instead of the pizze pie

Yeah, I'm going for the five spoke look. Anyone have pics of what it looks like removed? How much to the 5 spoke wheels run?

ES3,

The 05's are the same wheels only the (hubcap-like covers) are changed. The old "pie-plates" unbolt & the new star covers bolt back in.
---------------
Question: Are all of these caps plastic?

I replaced the pie plates with the 5-point spokes myself -- just remove the 10 hex bolts.
A complete set of pics is on my web site:

Stupid, yes -- the dealer could have done it.
But I'm a DIY'er.

Excellent! How much does the conversion cost? Can you buy the conversion directly from the dealership and install at home to save the labor? By the way, your website link isn't working??

It sucked today -- we finally got some rain here in Dallas (good for my lawn, bad for the rest of you ). It should be back up now (it's hosted at home).

Check out http://www.lexus-parts.com for an idea of prices, then compare it to your dealer's price. I'm not sure you'll find them on eBay. When the first came out, many complained about spending $400+ for ABS plastic, but they were (and are) quite an improvement from the originals.

Here's my complete post on them (wow, has it been 2 years?!):

Awesome post, thanks for the info. In my eyes, that's the best 469 bucks ever spent! Really makes the car look great.

How's your SC in rain? Decent if you don't dog it?

How warm is it Dallas these days? Just curious, my ex lives down there, I kinda hope it's hot.

The pie plates are easy to remove. I bought the 05 covers on ebay for $125 and the replacement process took 10 minutes. The 05 covers are on ebay weekly so find a reputable seller and save yourself some money.
