That's why if I buy, I'm buying USED!! A $40,000 '02 with 20 grand down (including my trade) would be about 370 a month at 4.9 percent for 60 months. Hopefully I'll be able to pay it off before termination of the loan...

Yeah, $370 a month is a lot more palatable. But we bought an '03 with 25k miles for $49k or $50k with $10k down and no trade. So at 4.9% that came out to $862.

For the money I would've rather seen her in a 911, but with some of the realibilty issues that friends've had, it made sense for her to go back to a Lexus.

Well, I guess it's all perspective, your car will be worth a chunk more than mine when you decide to sell it, so it could be somewhat of a wash... but yeah, it depends how much you're able to pay NOW, to get more back later... I know that a payment like yours wouldn't kill me, it would destroy me!

Joe,

I owned an SC430 but traded it earlier this year for something less bold. My wife still drives a Lexus LS 430. I have you by a couple of years and you are so right age is what you make of it and not the number of years you have. I expect to live life to it's fullest and still like to tease my employees (all younger than me) as to when are they going to be able to keep up with me.

I am goign to buy an SC430 by the end of the year, or once someone buys my 2000 Celica GT-S. I cant trade it in cuz its too hooked up but I am 23 I think I might be the youngest once I get it. Though I will be 24 in Nov. I cant wait!! I been trying to do all the research first to make sure I know what I am going to do when I get it. Anyways I just graduated from the university of florida earlier this year and started working right away, I figured I always wanted this car so I better treat myself for graduating

I think my friend holds the record for the youngest one ever to own a 2002 SC430. He was 17 years old and had a 02 SC430. He bought the one in the showroom back in 2002. He also had a BMW M3. He is now 20 and he sold the SC430 and bought a new SL500. Hes moved to California so I dont really talk to him anymore. I think his mom helped him lol Spoiled kid haha He is the reason why I bought this car. He let me borrow the SC for 2 days while he was away on a trip. I fell inlove with the car and said I was going to get one one day.

We were trying to figure out how much to put down, and that seemed reasonable. She could've paid cash, but I don't see the point in giving away that much cash, especially when we knew my stepdad would be buying a new car soon. At the time, we thought it would be an rx400h, but after the revised price and fuel mileage came out, it ended up being the '05 GS.
