fiberglass tends to chip easier than poly, from my experiences. you know how you were saying the wald kit is pretty low, arent most of the lip kits around the same height. And how low are you putting your coil overs at.

the chipping i think they are about the same. it should be more about the painting and how good the paint job is on having the paint stick to the kit. if you dont' paint it right on the poly kits, the flexing itself will make the paint come out already
of course not all lip kits are the same. you can have them as long as you want. for example the exclusive kits (also lip) is not as low as the wald. the wald is just hella darn low. i felt behind the kit before. i think it "lowers" the clearance by like 2 inches easy? and i lower my car quite a bit too, less than one finger gap

why dont you just spend money on road side assistance? then you dont need the spare just a cel.
