mario, it's your call. for sure 275/30/19 will work for your 10+27 no problem. i know it works on the 10+24. however, if you put 285, yes you have the "right" precie sidewall, but the tire is wider and so the stretching is different. i am not sure if you will rub or not.
i have 285/30, but that's on 10.5 so i have more stretching too to avoid the rubbing.
so you see how "difficult" and "tricky" it is on rim and tires? don't even ask me to throw in the brand/model difference

no the difference will not be noticeable at all. however, the 245 is perfect for 9 and 275 might be a bit stretch to 10 (depending on brand and model). if it's stretched, then you might think the rear tire has lower profile
btw, for my sc430, i have 255/35 and 285/30. dont' ask me why, that's the only combo avaiable for the tires i got

This is the best thread I've ever read on the tire and rims numbers.........I actually understand it now. I'm buying some 20" Maya EX2 from someone when I find out the rim width I will be getting back to you guys, because I'm told they need tires.

mario, i think with 245 and 275 you are VERY VERY safe. i think you can go with most brands too
PROY, with 9 and 10, i think you can do 245 and 275 to be safe, but you can do 245 or 255 with 285 in the back. but you will have to check the offset to make sure it's good

whats the downside of going bigger than stock. So if you didnt want to ride of rubber bands. Cant be that bad can it? I am just thinking the speedometer might be a few off as well as make the car a little slower.

if you get wheels of larger diameter (read, i said wheels, NOT rims. rims + the right tire could mean same diameter), the speedo is off a little. and they might be heavier so more stress on brakes, meaning brake fade might hit sooner. also you need to pay more attention to the tire to make sure the pressure is good and there is no flat tire. and ride will usually suffer as you go lower profile. bending wheels is a bit easier in general so getting strong rims is a must. and of course it's easier to curb the wheels
