Default Will LF-A replace sc430?

I think not as I've seen info on sc430 remake for 2007 side by side with LF-A introduction. THat said, will the LF-A have a folding hard top? I'm interested if it does. Just gotta have a folding top after my experience with the sc430. But that high powered LF-A is sooo tempting...

to make it quick and painless for both questions: totally doubt it now seriously, it won't since it would be in a completely different category car/performance/price wise.. with the hard top, I don't think the rear's design would allow space for a folding hardtop+mechanism

No way, LF-A is supposed to be a super performance sports car, totally different from the SC430, which is designed to be a luxury cruiser.
The LF-A should be made as light weight as possible, even a convertible is a bad move AFAIC, not to mention the extra weight of a convertible hardtop.

Check out the Lexus website for their LF-C concept, which is a boxier version of the current SC. It will have a convertible hardtop.

The LF-A is a purely original luxury pseudo-exotic with more golgobas than any other Lexus out there...

I heard on this site a couple of months ago that the body change for the sc 430 would be coming out in 2009 or possibly 2008. In the last couple of days I have heard that it is allready done and will be out for the 2007 model year. can anyone confirm?

That's too soon. They've just "refurbished" the SC for 2006, and will do a marketing blitz for the IS250/350. Lexus will focus on the LS460 for 2007, as well as the GS450h and perhaps any of the SUVs. They will probably introduce a new SC and the LF-A by 2008.

I have heard from at least one car site that it will be 2007. Really, I hope not. I'd like my 2004 to retain its value a little longer. BTW if the new LS comes out with an approx 340 HP engine as said in some of these site. that might mean the SC430 will have that engine. An approx 10% boost doesn't thrill me. I most likely will get the supercharger from Luxury Motor Works instead and save a lot of money. Who knows really whats in store ... These are all rumors as far as I'm concerned til Lexus announces it. Still a lot of fun to speculate.

My guess is that a new SC may possibly come out spring 2007 as an early 2008 model. They usually like to launch convertibles in spring, the current SC430 was launched spring 2001 as an early 2002 model. The SL500 was launched spring 2002 as a early 2003 model . . .

I think your mixing up the LF-A and the LF-C. The LF-A is the Exotic concept that was unveiled this year(F430, DB9, Gallardo competitor). The LF-C was the hardtop convertible model that you are thinking about.

Now, I personally dont think the LF-A will replace the SC430. Two totally different cars. However there is a slight possiblity that the LF-C will. I think some of that cars styling will be incorporated into the new SC4**. But the more common rumor we have been hearing is that the rumored IS350 Coupe will be based off of that concept.

Not likely. The LF-C concept is dramatically different than the IS. The LF-C will most likely replace the SC, and the IS convertible will be completely independent based on the current body/platform. We need to see an IS coupe (will it be called the IC? Since the S is for sedan, and the C for coupe?) before we can see an IS convertible.

SO much confusion
Makes the wait that much bettter. Some random articles with pictures about LF-C:

A quote from one of the articles "The LF-C (Lexus Future Coupe) concept is our first glimpse of the design language that will define the next-generation IS, which surfaces in early 2006."
