Can anyone tell me where I can get the latest Upgrade 4.1 DVD for my 2002 SC430 NAvigation system. Who currently has the best price and how much are they going for? Note I am specifically looking for the version 4.1 which will upgrade my sytem properly.

well first of all make sure you ge the right part number, can you use 4.1? i thought that's for 05+ nav

anyway, talk to sewell lexus, they have some of the best prices i believe, mention you are from clublexus. i think it's around 280 bucks?

Got the Upgrade 4.1 DVD today off of eBay and it upgraded without a problem. Since I am in Winnipeg, Canada I thought the 4.1 version would be more detailed for Winnipeg. It is definitely more detailed than the original DVD but still nothing like you guys get in the States or I would imagine Toronto, Montreal, etc....

Shows all the major streets etc... but none of the side streets or secondary streets. Too bad.

I'm in Toronto, and yes the 4.1 is very detailed here. Some of the smaller streets are not labeled, However if you touch the screen in the top left corner(compass) it changes mode. I don't know the name of the mode, but the N disappears. This change will name every street you turn on at the bottom centre of the screen.

In Toronto does it show all the residential streets on the map itself. In Winnipeg with 4.1 I see only the major thoroughfares but none of the residential streets or even secondary thoroughfares???

It shows most of the residential streets and all of the secondary streets. Maybe it has something to do with the zoom or map size. Click on the 100 or 200 size and see if it makes a difference.

However in that mode I mentioned above, even if the street name is not written on the actual map, which some aren't. It comes up automatically on the bottom centre of the screen as soon as you turn on to the street. I haven't turned on to a street yet that the name didn't appear. Also I like this mode better because the icon that represents the car doesn't turn. Instead you see the map turn and you are always going straight up.

Tried what you suggested. Things switch as you say but the detail remains the same. I guess Winnnipeg isn't big enough to have all of the detail on it. It is too bad that Lexus Canada does not offer a DVD only for Canada without all the detail of the States on it. This way I could use the Canadian DVD for my day to day navigation with all the streets etc... and then switch to the 4.1 DVD I currently am using when I travel to the States....

When you switch does it name all the streets at the bottom centre? Even the ones that are not on the map?

Only names the major roads when I am on them. Area of the map that are blank but do indeed have roads on them do not show up. For instance if I am on a residential road say James Street and it is not on the map it does not show up as james street on the navigation. Once I reach a street that is visible on the map then the name does appear of that visible street???
