Passenger's back rest making a racket; usual?

A little history. Since I got my car, both back rests were almost touching the rear seat, but with the pressure when seated they were actually touching, and squeaking like crazy. I thought it came from the roof all this time, as it 'clearly' sounded there. Well, I recently found out (by accident) the back rests were the culprit. A tap on the electric seat adjuster (forward) solved the 2-yr-old problem (duh!).
Anyway, now that my car was quiet, I found a new noise, albeit less annoying. It's the passenger back rest when unoccupied making noises even on small bumps. I could slam the back rest against the back seat and probably solve the problem, but don't want to mess up the leather any more than it already is (back rest was slammed on the back seat from the factory, and the leather is still all wrinkled there). Believe me, I'm not looking for a perfectly quiet convertible car, but a seat making noise in a $60K+ car is ridiculous.
Has anybody else have this problem? Don't want to take my car to the dealer unless the fix is documented. Oh, and if this problem has been discussed, it's probably so old it didn't show up on my searches. If it has been discussed and somebody can post a link, it'd be greatly appreciated. Car is an '04 with 4K miles (exactly 2 years old).
Thanks for your help.

I had the same problem with the noises from the seatbacks for both seats on my 2002. After exploring a bit, I found that the screws fastening the backs to the seats had all fallen out and the backs were loose. Took it in on my next service call and had them replace the screws...no more noise!
(We can debate all day whether a $60K+ car should have screws that fall out).
Good Luck!

Thanks for pitching in buddy. Will look into that this weekend. The stupid right door started making a racket too; geez. Car only has 4,000 miles. I planned to keep it for a long time, but I think will get rid of it before the warranty expires, in year and a half or so. The runflats can be partly blamed, but there's no reason why Lexus couldn't have sorted the suspension a lot better; it's downright harsh, but wallowy at the same time. Even my ex-vette ('03) was much more compliant, with the same low profile, runflat tires... and it's a freakin' sportscar. Good evening guys.
