Thanks for your response. So what size tires would you recommend with the 19x8.5 (30) and 19x9.5 (35) setup?

It's possible that you may get a little from this setup also. I did 18x8.5 (20) on front & 18x9.5 (25) on rear & rubbed a little, but my car is lowered, so there's a chance that you won't experience this issue. I just wanted to mention it, because the factory setup has the wheels recessed so far in, that you really don't know when your shocks are starting to fail. The new setup will be wider & it may be just enough to let you know it's time for shocks. If it does, it won't be the fender, but just the plastic liner inside the fenderwell

Thanks again for taking the time to respond. Would the little amount of rubbing be a concern? I assume it's these wider rims causing the rubbing. I remember the fender liner taking a hit on my last car (Audi TT).

....it may be a combination of the width & being a taller tire, there's a chance that you won't get any rubbing at all, but thought I would mention it just in case. Because the factory wheels sit so far back into the car, the need for new shocks sometimes is forgotten...lol

Im running "work Wheels" 20x10+37 in the rear with 285/30-R20
Fronts are 255/30-R20
I had a lower profile in the rears 285/25R20 however I ended up with bent rims two years in a row... I only use my SC 430 as a summer vehicle putting on less than 10,000 km or 6,000 miles.... I took the rims to well-established Wheel shop in my area (Alberta rims) http://www.albertawheelrepair.com and the owner (Paul) told me that he could open new shop with all the bent rims his shop gets in from the lower profiles. Just don't seem to protect the rim under normal driving conditions in and out of parking lots low curbs etc.. Saying that, I live in Calgary Alberta Canada. We do get a lot of frost damage in the spring and possibly the roads here are problematic that way.
I don't have any wheel well rubbing, the ride is exhilarating in comparison to the stock run flats & the cornering is not even comparable...

I bought a (Merc.Metallic) Silver/Ecru 2008 SC 430 a few mo. ago. 23k miles for $30k. I had one about 20 yrs. ago which I loved but had to turn it in when the company sold. So, just got the bug again to get one and I love it and appreciate it even more! Just don't expect it to handle any snow, since it's rear wheel drive. Anyway, the tires looked fine until I happen to take it in to have a few of the larger dings fixed, and a mechanic said I probably should get new tires. I thought he was crazy since the mileage was extremely low, until I took it to another mechanic who showed me that from the first sight, they look fine, but the inside had very low trim left on all 4.
So all, best to give a look further under when checking tires.
I had Costco put Michelin's on and with tax paid $954. Called the out of state dealer I dealt with and was told I should try to ask the manufacture of the old ones if there was by chance any kind of warranty or rebate of them. I doubt it but worth a try. Does anyone have the original tires that can tell me who the manufacture was? I have a couple pictures of them but can't see who it was.
I don't know what the original tires were but they were run flats and it was not unusual for them to wear out with less than 20k miles on them. Some of the tires available today have warranties of 40k and 50k but a lot of the problem comes from the alignment and the suspension on the car itself. There are a few threads on this subject and various methods that folks have tried to increase the life of the tires with varying amounts of success. Typically, the treadwear on the inside of the tires wears much faster than the rest of the tire so it is hard to see unless you get right under it.
Another aspect of the short tire life is that these are typically high performance tires with softer rubber which results in shorter mileage expectations also.

here are the pictures, ended up going 285/35 in the rear. local tire shop had a pair of 275s but they had bad wear patterns, so i went with the used michelin PSS in 285/35 - $140 for the pair!

He wants to do 19x9.5 wheels in both front and back, without having to do any fender rolling.
From what I've read so far there are a lot of guys with a lot larger wheels on the SC430 but have had to make other adjustments and or modifications.
Will the 19x9.5 work front and back without fender rolling?
What offset should we be looking for?

.....you should be able to get away with the width, but for the front, you will need a high offset. I can't remember what stock offset is, but you'll probably need to be in that range. The rear will be no issue at all & I would go mid 20's offset. I would run a 235/35 or 225/35 up front & a 275/30 or 285/30 ,on the rear.One thing that I would warn, after going to a taller & wider tire/wheel, you might experience a little rubbing. The rubbing won't be because the tires/wheels are too wide, but because it's time for shocks. The factory setup has so much room under it, that when the shocks start to wear, you will never realize how much the travel you have in them. The new setup will fill up some of that space underneath & thats where you might notice some rubbing. I had this issue, but after changing shocks, no issues afterwards........after writing this, I didn't think to ask if he's looking for a setup that can be rotated or a more aggressive/staggered setup ?

id go with 275 max and maybe even 265s if you want no rubbing
