....what year is your Sc? If you haven't changed the shocks, you will probably get a little rub. The wheel size aren't bad, but the 40 series tire, might be too tall. Also, I'm not sure if it's a UK thing, but all US spec tires (width) end with an odd number (eg....225,235,245, etc....), I see you have the width @ 240, just curious if thats correct

Typo error sorry , your right the tyre width is 245 .
The car is a 2001 , I have looked on a wheel and tyre calculator , and it says the wheel will fill the well by another 25 mm , I'm guessing this will be very touch and go .

.....lol....thought you guys may have had different sizes. The wheels will be fine, I just think that you might have an issue with the 40 series tires. Most guys that move from 18 to 20, use a 35 or 30 series tire, because the 40 series, is a bit too tall. I asked about the shocks, because using a bigger/taller tire/wheel, will take up that extra space in the wheel well, therefore any play in the shocks will give you a rub in the tires

When it scrubs the liner will it only be at certain times or will it be more when the wheels are turned ?
Im guessing I will have to just try them , they are second hand rims and I will probably get them re curbed any way , so if the tyres scrub I will just have to put new rubber on them .
With delivery they will only be costing about £ 300 so I'm sure I will not be losing out .

...usually they will only rub when you hit a dip in the rub, you might experience some in a deep turn, but that won't be too often

i have now purchased a set of Audi peeler wheels , 20 inch rims , 9 inch wide , 35 off set , the tyres are 245 x 30 X 20 , so they will fit a lot better and should not rub the liner as the tyre profile is lower .
just waiting for wheel nuts to arrive so I can get them fitted .
Finally got round to fitting the new wheels and tyres .
i was a little worried about going to a 30 profile tyre, thinking that they might be just as bad as the run flats , but I have to say even with so little rubber on the tyre it is still lots better than the horrible run flats .
just need to get a good can of tyre foam as I have no spare , there is a can in the car but it looks like the original one ,and I am a little dubious about how good it would be in an emergency .
tpms light has now come on , so I will look into that any way here are a few pics .
Looks better ? Fills the arches a lot better than the old pie plates

Looks good! How much PSI are you running? Mine was riding rough with the 20’s (although better than the runfarts) but I had them aired too high. Think I am at 35-37 right now and rides decent. Although I did change my springs to Voitland which also provided a 1.2” drop which looks great.
