This weekend the Tase of Lexus was at the old El Toro marine base in CA.
I found it to be not as good as last year for the reasons I will explain. The first thing that disapointed was that there were no 2006 SC's to drive,
so there was no reason to drive the cars. I did not see the Jaguar, BMW or Cadillac's in that class like last year either. The food was limited to puff pasteries and sweets, not the buffet like last year. The parting "gift" were similar to last year (the wierd photo-alblum with the site-sseing book), but they also added some Paul McCarthy CD's and a nice little Lexus document holder this year. The CD's and doc. holder I can use.
There were more videographers than I have ever seen taking video, and the display's were interesting. All in all it could have been better, but I think they may have reduced their budgets, like everyone else. I wish they would have at least had a 2006 SC on display to see, but I guess you have to go to the dealer for that.
Maybe next year they will have the current model SC to at least look at.

Although the longest lines were to drive the SC, It would have been like driving my car without the upgraded suspension, so I just left... I didn't even enter the drawing for the Michelins once the rep. told me they don't make "zero pressure" (run-flats) for the SC....yet

I really, really wish I could have at least seen a 06 SC up close though...

This is my first year as a Lexus owner. So this is my first lexus event. I thought it was pretty neat I brought a few friends and we all enjoyed ourselves. I test drove the LX, SC, and BMW 530I. To my dismay the Lexus out performs the 5series!!! It was honestly a big disappointment because I acutally like that car. My friend test drove the E500 and the GS300 and she said the E500 gave her a headache. I am wondering if they do anything to these cars to make the reduce the performance of them. Either was I am very proud of Lexus.
The LX is absolutely incredible for such a huge SUV yet it was still extremely smooooooooooth!!! I felt right at home when I drove up and there was nothing but Lexus' well most of them anyways. I got a lot of compliments on the grill of my RX330. Overall I had a good experience and I will be coming back every year. GOOD JOB LEXUS!!!!
