I have a 2002 with 27k miles. The origional Bridgestone RF's drove me crazy with excesssive tire noise. At 14,000 miles I changed them out for Michelin PS AS. It was like having a new car quiet and had a much better ride and handing. Now however the noise is back, 6mm left on the tires not as bad yet as before but very noticeable.an un-Lexus like.
So my question is this, is the SC430 a tire eater or is it just my choice of tires? Really do not want to have to replace the tires every 14k but I want my quiet Lexus ride I used to have and my wife does have on her GS300.

I would have thought the Michelins would be better for longer than that. I put the same on my 2003 SC and they were WAY better than the runcraps. However, I only put another 10K on them before I sold the car. If it's any consolation, my NSX IS a tire eater!!! I got 7,000 miles on first set of tires and they were worn to the chords!!!! you only got 13k miles on the a/s? that's weird.... did you do alignment on the car? is it off? lexus cars are kinda sensitive to alignment

with the a/s, i would expect you to get at least 30k with normal driving

The problem is not wear but noise there is 6mm of tread left all round. Was trying to get a handle on whether sc430's are noisy cars for tires or is it just my choice of tire? The PS started out great but about 7000 miles the road noise stared to come back.
