The twisties were added later. Next upgrade would be non runflat tires, maybe some wheels

Sweet!!! G-spiders look great in chrome!!!! Can use your runflats till you can't stand them anymore then just get regular tires.

Does the original 02-05 harness fit the 06+ lights? Just wondering if it would work if I got my hands on the lights alone.

And you'll get a waring light on the dash due to different voltage/resistance too.

there are actually four components for the FULL upgrade:
Taillamps (2)
wiring harness (2) a new harness is necessary due to the LED tail/brake lights
Upper garnish (2) - some say the old ones work fine... I changed mine out.
ECU 1. This is a plug and play unit in the trunk under the floor garnish to the driver's side of the NAV ECU/Disk player.

The new ECU fixes the voltage/resistance issue so you don't get a bulb light out error lamp in the speedometer. I believe others have figured out the correct resistance for the LED and avoided buying the ECU and other just put a piece of black tap over the indicator light in the dash. Suppose it all depends on what you are willing to spend or put up with.

How do you remove the garnish?

Has anyone tried this for the warning bulb? I wonder if this would work.

I realize it a long thread, but you should go back and read it all from the beginning. I did it today, and I would not use load resisters after reading what I read.

We're lucky enough to have a couple of electrical engineers chime in during the thread and IF I understood them correctly, it's not such a good or safe idea versus the cost of a new ECU.
But if money is an issue, then the poor man's tape over the dashboard LED, and steps to do it are explained nicely and make sense when considering how long LED last compared to incandescent bulbs.

Good point Bob. If ECU is not an option, just ignore the light. Everybody happy.

Note : The resistor kit gets hot during working, do not make it in contact with plastic or painted parts
