But if money is an issue, then the poor man's tape over the dashboard LED, and steps to do it are explained nicely and make sense when considering how long LED last compared to incandescent bulbs.
Correct me if I am wrong Bob, do you need to remove the steering wheel to get to the cluster? To get the tape on the bulb?

Isn't that a challenge?

Do not need to remove the steering wheel to remove the cluster, just tilt it out and down.

I think others just put a piece of tape on the plastic cover, Or simply pop the cluster open-very easy to do.

This mod is a necessity for white gold crystal cars. Tape over the bulb would be coo wid me instead of the ECU.

You guys have to get the chrome amber bulbs---especially with WGC cars...there is no yellow whatsoever in the turn signal (except for when it is blinking). Very cool!!!!

Was just wondering, if I went and pulled 2006 Tail Lamps from an 06+ car, they would fit my 2004 right?

Also will my 2004 lamps work on 2006 car?

I have someone willing to swap, for a cheappp price.

Hi guys
Now I went another route with LED tailights. I had Mike at *****************. Mike is making my 2002 tailights in all LED's. His work the best I ever seen.
Regards

Yes they would. The only difference in shape and connectivity is:

1) The 06+ lamps are a little more rounded from a side view and aerodynamic, versus the 02-05 lamps just are straight down with no curve out...you can only notice from a side view and there is no sealing or flushness concerns, just a slight curve on the 06+ tails that make them a little more sexy and modern

2) Obviously the wiring harness and LED bulb inside

3) Your bulb light indicator will now be illuminated with a pretty little amber light...and perhaps the 06+ owner's too.

Marietta, been talking to Kristi and she says you and her miss the crowd in TX. I am not much on meets, but DIY projects, I am game.

scdrotop has me convinced of this upgrade from Day 1. I am closer. Once I sell my twisters, I will order my set (if she allows me...lol).

You will have to tear apart the trunk. I will let the experts dive into this possibility.

I hope this task is possible. Switch the lights, wiring harness, and ECU between a 2004 and 2006+ with both working between the 2004 and 2006+ cars after the swap.
