Default Spoiler?

I need to know if I have a spoiler on my SC430 2002 info I need to order a trunk lid support. Is the little ridge on the back constitute a spoiler or is there some aftermarket thing that you order. I have seen a spoiler you can buy at the dealer, that looks about what I have on my car. I don't think I have seen a 430 without some sore of spoiler.

As far as I know, a rear spoiler is standard equipment for all SC430s. What you describe as a "little ridge" at the rear edge of your trunk is the spoiler. I've owned an `02 and now own an `04 SC430 and its the same equipment.

The spoiler is a $440 option. However it should be standard because without it the car is butt ugly.

It's an option you pay but every SC430 came with it already installed. So the option part is buy the car or not.

It's never an option up here , I think even for the U.S. only a small # of early models come without the spoiler, & yes I think it looks better with the spoiler .

That may be so, but as originally advertised by Lexus the only option that was supposed to be available on the SC430 was the run-flat tires. At any rate, this debate may be the equivalent of trying to count the number of angels dancing on the head of a pin, since I've never seen an SC430 without this equipment.

And for what it's worth, I read an early review on the 2002 which commented that that spoiler actually worked to reduce drag as opposed to some of the bologna slicers you see out there.

Since everyone on this forum is so exacting and loves to split frog hairs, go to the Lexus web site and you will see that it is still an option. And Henry there are options shown for 2006.

Maybe you'll have to factory order one paying MSRP & told to wait 3-4 months for one without a spoiler LOL

well.. even for 2006

If you go to Lexus web site. The option is actually required.
I don't think you can deselect it.
It seems to me that both rear spoiler and run flats are now required.
Maybe you can do it different when you go to dealership and negociate in person.
