Spare tire kit conversion
Sorry to beat a dead horse. I know this topic has been discussed to great lengths. I am a new owner of a 2002 SC430 and want to get rid of the run flats. If I lift the tool box carpet and cover in the trunk, to the extreme rear of the tool box section there is a depression that looks like it would support a tire. Does this mean that I have the at least part of the conversion? I do not have a tire or any hardware to secure the tire. Nor do I have the carpeted cover that fits over the tire.
Thanks

The area you are referring to does support the tire but is found in all sc430 whether they have rft's or non-rft. You might want to see the recent post on the spare tire kit, I bought all my parts from Matt molini as mentioned on the post and it took 40 minutes to switch everything out, It was a little over 600.00 for everything. the only thing you don't really need on the list is the safety stiiker but you pretty much need everything else and these is tech bulletin to show how to install all of it. Just a couple of tools.
