Default Professional Custom Sterero Shop install.....what to know ahead?

Hello all, I had my SC430 get looked at by my local Custom Stereo Shop, there pretty Reputable, (they are similar to West Coast Customs....etc.....)

I'm about to order the LUX Link Remote Top Operator (without alarm)

I let them see the two vids on the LuxUry Motory works dot com web site.

my question is......those who have the LuxLink Remote Top operator,
what shall I tell the installer to becareful off.....any advice before hand would be great
b/c my Local Lexus dealer wont install it?????......

please help, My worst fears is that, once they take apart my door panels,
i'm very much afraid that the Stereo will rattle and not as air tight as from original.....

please list everything you can about what to expect when installing so I can tell the shop.

thank you

I been emailing them for the past 4 or 5 months, the last time I talked to them they said they should have some test units in about 8 weeks, this was about 4 weeks ago. So test units in a month?

As long as I have mine B4 memorial day, I'm good. I'm just curious how much some of you guys paid to have it installed.

i say around 100 bucks?

VERY careful on the leather trims, make sure the shop knows what they are doing and willing to warranty it if damaged. those leather trims, they are as thin as you can ask for

The guy that fitted mine drilled a hole in the door. I dont think that is normal is it?

I wasent bothered cos' you cant see it and I would'nt even have known if he had not told me.

I think some ppl had trouble with their door panels lining up after installing the Luxlink. I know my door is fine.. maybe its due to him drilling the hole.

nope that's not normal, shouldn't need to do that. what's the hole for?

let's not bring up the door panel alignment nightmare again

Its over a year since I had it installed. But I just remember him telling me he did that. He just said he needed to do that to get the cables through.

But the hole is behind the door card not at the side. Havent seen it mind.

We have heard that for a very long time now. I would not put much into it until it actually is released. Those that have it purchased their older model which they no longer sell.

Drilling a hole in the door is a no no. The instructions tell you to run it thru the existing boot. It's a pain but worth it. If it is self install, hire some hobbits. Wiring underneath the steering wheel is hard to get at, especially when you are soldering connections. I never had a problem with the door panel so I cant comment.
