Well, as title says, I've sold my GS and I'm looking for an SC. Before I started my shopping in earnest, I thought I should defer to the experts here. Are there any areas of concern I should be looking into when shopping for an SC? Any parts or areas I should be particularly careful about prior to purchase? Thanks in advance, and I look forward to being part of Team SC!!

The car is built as a reliable machine, with a "4 year / 50,000 mile" bumper to bumper factory warranty . When I was shopping here in Florida. My main concern was low milage; second I wanted a good price, third I called my local Lexus Service Agent and asked him to run a service history on the VIN number of the cars I was looking at, finally I priced the Lexus Extended Platinum Warranty from the dealer for "7 years / 100,000 miles". I located a 2002 with 23,000 miles on it. It was in perfect condition. The history showed that it had been Lexus Certified at 22,000 miles. Still looks and feels like brand new even today with 26,000 miles on it. I just happened to take some photo's yesterday (see below). I paid $39,000 for the car and $2,400 for the extended warranty. So I am covered until the year 2009. Also the extended warranty is transferable one time. So that can add to the resale appeal when I want to sell it to get a newer one. This is my dream car!!!! I am 100% sure you will enjoy yours.

As I posted just days ago in another post similar to this, the SC430 is pretty much the most reliable Lexus there is which would make it the most reliable car sold. I believe it won that title 2 years in a row.
No real issue sto look out for other than the usual car buying items such as altered mileage, severe accidents, etc... Most every SC I looked at when shopping for mine months back were in excellent condition.
BTW, welcome aboard. I made the same switch. All I can say is your in for a treat. The driving experience is loads better vs the GS IMO and I loved my GS.

Where abouts in Canada are you? If your in Alberta, Calgary area to be exact I wouldn't mind showing you my garaged SC right now.
I haven't had a single problem with my SC yet except that when I let her sit for the winter the battery has been drained but thats my fault for not talking out the terminal on it.
Bulletproof really!![Smilie](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
