Do you know what the wattage output is on the stock DRLs/fog lights? It looks good in the pictures.
Then again, as much as I don't like yellow lights, yellow is the color you want in a fog situation. Fortunately, we only have heavy fog a few times a year.

Same HID headlights
those are the Oem headlights with upgraded hid fog lamps. Not sure what the original fog lamp wattage were but you can notice when turning them on whereas the old ones I didn't notice a difference when i turned them on. Also, one down side to upgrading, the dash led will no longer work with the upgrade for some reason. It is no problem for me because it is so noticeable when they are on versus off.
