Jim
Best to replace em. Try replacing one first. If that does not help, swap sides. This will almost always work while saving the cost of replacing both. I think I paid around 130.00 or so. Where do you go? Crown or Riverside?

Just before my car went out of warranty, I mentioned to the dealer that the trunk seemed to be not staying open as smartly as before, and he replaced both struts, no charge, no questions asked.

I guesss I'm good for 4 more years.

I doubt they have one that fits and is also the correct pressure which is very important. When I worked in the parts business behind the counter I would always get customers insistent that the lift supports we sold for cars would fit their camper shell doors so they bought them against our recommendation. Then they would come back and &^*@ that the hinges on their door snapped because the lift support was too stiff. Plus they would want us to buy them a new door. We sent them on their merry way out the door.

You can check the online sites for partsamerica.com or Zone and see if they have a direct replacement for the car. Otherwise the dealer is the next stop. I need to pick some up for the 968 as well.
